Teach2Learn

The project aims to address educational challenges in partner countries, with a particular focus on improving the reading comprehension of 2nd to 4th graders from minority, migrant or non-official language backgrounds. 

The priorities chosen are related to the continuous training of teachers, with the aim of achieving high quality in the teaching process and supporting their students more effectively to overcome their learning difficulties and low levels of basic skills, thus preventing early school leaving.

Project activities

  • Develop an assessment tool for teacher training needs.
  • Creation of a training programme to improve the reading comprehension of pupils in the 2nd to 4th grade of primary school.
  • Develop an interactive platform with practical and user-friendly resources that engage teachers, parents and students.
  • Building a database of videos that will demonstrate the practical use of the project resources.

Project objectives

  • To equip teachers, parents and migrant students with innovative methods, interactive resources and pedagogical tools based on gamification for the teaching and learning of reading comprehension skills.
  • To overcome learning disabilities and school drop-out.

Target group

  • Children in grades 2, 3 and 4 of primary education from minority and migrant/refugee backgrounds or whose mother tongue is not the official language of the education system and who face comprehensive reading barriers.

  • Teachers working with pupils in 2, 3 and 4 years of primary education who have a migrant background and face significant barriers to reading due to cultural issues.

  • Migrant parents of children in Years 2, 3 and 4, and of children who are facing significant barriers as a result of cultural issues.

  • National education inspectorates, school leaders, educators, education experts and education departments.
